2025 Super Summer Seminar

This years Super Summer Seminar was a held on Sunday July 27th, 2025 at the Costa Mesa Downtown Recreation Center. It was a great success and was enjoyed by all. It provided training for instructors and black belts in the morning.

All Genbu-Kia members started training at 10 AM and studendts were able to review and learn new katas along with bunkai for those katas. Sensei Thanh Nguyen and Sensei Christie Hines provided the attendees with information about the history of Genbu-Kai and other great information.

After Kata was finished moved into kumite training. Sensei Brian Hilliard lead the group through some great training tips and techniques to improve our kumite skills, and give us a fun workout also.

After kumite training was moved on to kobudo. This years weapon was Bo. All students worked on improving the basic and advanced Bo skill as well as reviewing and learning new katas. Along with kata and basics training we also worked on bunkai using the Bo.
